7 hours per day

Training and kitchen opening will take place the week before school starts on August 24-26.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Cooks and heats foods on site utilizing USDA, federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
  2. Records food inventory and daily food usage.
  3. Sets up serving line and serves food.
  4. Assists with clean-up activities.
  5. Assists with training of Cook Helpers.
  6. Performs ordering responsibilities when assigned by the Cook Manager.
  7. Performs point-of-sale and cashiering duties as needed.
  8. Serves as primary back-up to the Cook Manager or Elementary Cook Manager.
  9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Qualifications:
  1. MN Department of Health Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate or ability or obtain within 90 days of hiring date. Must maintain.
  2. Membership in School Nutrition Association (SNA) and Level 2 completion within 90 days from date of hire and Level IV within 365 days from date of hire. Must maintain.
  3. Evidence of successful experience in school food service or related field for a minimum of one year.
  4. Computer skills and the ability to learn online ordering systems required.
  5. Math skills required for ordering inventory and working with recipes.
  6. Evidence of leadership and supervisory skills.
  7. Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  8. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds) as assessed through a preplacement physical at Concentra.
