Position Title:  Cook Manager Elementary School
Job Summary: This position is responsible for participating, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the building's nutritional service operations including delivery of nutritious and appealing meals to customers; preparing, cooking and serving customers; and maintaining a clean and welcoming work environment. This position is also responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining food safety standards, serving customers, assisting with breakfast meal service, and supporting building nutritional services staff in accordance with USDA Breakfast and lunch programs regulations.


Fridley Public Schools serves a richly diverse student population, and this role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming, inclusive experience for all families. The successful candidate will bring strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced school environment. Schedule:  7.75 hours/day M-F School year, onsite work and wages per nutritional services master agreement

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Level 3 certification is preferred (must be obtained within 1 year of appointment)
  • Valid Serv Safe or Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager (must be obtained within 1 year of appointment)
  • Three years of previous quantity food service experience, preferably in a school or healthcare setting
  • Two years of previous supervisory or managerial experience preferably in a school or healthcare setting
  • Knowledgeable in utilizing computer software programs including Microsoft, Google, student information software, vendor ordering systems,  and nutritional software
  • Skills
