Our cooks play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by preparing nutritious, appealing meals that meet individual dietary needs while creating a positive dining experience.

Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary requirements, food safety standards, and facility policies. This position works closely with the Dietary Manager and healthcare team to ensure residents receive high-quality meals that support their health and well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menus.

  • Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in a safe and sanitary manner.

  • Follow therapeutic and modified diet requirements as directed.

  • Maintain proper food temperatures and storage procedures.

  • Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, and kitchen surfaces.

  • Follow all federal, state, and local food safety regulations.

  • Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments.

  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and guests.

Qualifications
  • Previous cooking experience preferred, ideally in healthcare, long-term care, restaurant, or institutional food service.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary instructions.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
