Job description

Part-Time Substitute Chef:

Spruce Mountain Inn, a residential facility committed to providing a supportive environment for our residents, is seeking a Part-Time/ Substitute Chef to join our dedicated team.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve dinner for staff and residents, with a focus on variety, nutrition, and accommodating dietary needs.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen throughout the shift.
  • Complete end-of-day cleaning and closing procedures.
  • Communicate with Chef regarding kitchen needs, inventory, and feedback.
  • Work with Chef to develop menus for the week.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and residents to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
  • Help lead guided cooking classes with residents to develop their kitchen skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous commercial kitchen or food service experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and a team player.
  • ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs, including allergies and special diets.
