Job Summary
The Associate Director, reports into Horizon Commerce's Director, Direct to Consumer eCommerce, and is responsible for successful delivery of client engagements and business development efforts as part of our team.
The Associate Director will lead engagements with Horizon Commerce's and Horizon Media's clients and will ensure that the clients' business, marketing and ecommerce goals are being met through effective eCommerce planning, execution and engagement management, employing a mix of analysis, best practices and innovation and working with and/or managing internal and external resources as needed.
A significant component of this role will involve developing - as well as delivering - new DTC eCommerce capabilities, through a mix of identifying and incorporating best practices, client-specific analytics, and innovation to establish new service offerings that drive value for clients and help grow Horizon Commerce's business.
This role will also lead and support efforts to win new business with both existing and new clients, contributing eCommerce strategic thinking, client and category research and insights, opportunity identification, proposed solutions, proposal content and participating in client meetings and pitch presentation as an eCommerce subject matter expert and representative of our team.
What You'll Do
25% - Direct to Consumer Offering Development & Management
  • Establish yourself as Direct to Consumer DTC) expert and valued partner with clients, as well as with internal Horizon teams, across multiple levels of seniority and different functions (media, content, technology, etc.)
  • Drive the development of Direct to Consumer (DTC) and, as part of DTC, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) strategy and execution capabilities, including proprietary tools, methodologies, and processes for Horizon Commerce to sell into clients and Horizon teams
  • Help define and develop new Horizon Commerce DTC delivery capabilities both within the context of client engagements and as separate growth efforts
  • Help establish and build relationships and partnerships with relevant external eCommerce service partners

50% - Client Engagement Delivery and Relationship Management
  • Maintain effective client relationships, including knowledge of client's business (market share, business priorities, key competitor strategies, etc.). Establish and grow client relationships by demonstrating an understanding of industry and client business issues
  • Drive the development of DTC and CRO strategies and execution plans that achieve clients' eCommerce performance goals, develop new client capabilities and result in eCommerce innovations in the market
  • Setup and manage short-term and ongoing client engagements to successfully deliver scoped deliverables, acting as the Engagement Lead and key point of contact for the client and internal Horizon Commerce and Horizon Media teams
  • Lead the development of individual client deliverables, both inputting as a subject matter expert and also managing internal and external resources as needed to successfully produce the deliverables.
  • Understand emerging client needs, translate needs into requirements and internal briefs, secure and onboard the appropriate resources to meet needs, monitor delivery progress, conduct solutioning and problem-solving as needed to deliver outputs and services that meet client needs
  • Communicate and collaborate with Horizon Commerce VPs, President and other Horizon business leaders to effectively manage client and internal relationships and achieve the desired outcomes for our business
  • Collaborate with Horizon teams & Horizon Commerce Data Science and eShopper solutions specialties to derive the holistic solutions for the client that include DTC and/or CRO strategies and capabilities

20% - Business Development
  • Represent Horizon Commerce as an SME in internal and external business development meetings to qualify opportunities, understand client needs, and define potential solutions
  • Help develop pitch presentations and proposals, contribute to the definition of deliverables, staffing and pricing, as well as develop Statements of Work (SOWs) as needed
  • Contribute to development of marketing and sales assets, e.g., website, client intro deck, webinars
  • Collaborate with Horizon Media teams to provide Horizon Commerce deliverables for broader agency pitches

5% - Consulting & Agency Practice Operations
  • Help define and execute Horizon Commerce's evolving vision as a business, e.g., developing new offerings, processes, collateral, etc.
  • Provide support with Horizon HR, Finance and IT-related processes such as interviewing, performance reviews, training, revenue estimates and reporting
  • Drive knowledge creation and knowledge management to support development of Horizon Commerce's delivery capabilities
  • Participate in team meetings, events and initiatives that foster internal communication, collaboration, and culture
  • Directly supervise a growing team of DTC specialists in support of achieving Horizon Commerce business goals
  • Professionally develop direct reports to reach their career growth goals

Skills & Experience
  • 6+ years' experience in planning and delivery of digital marketing and/or eCommerce-related initiatives; 3+ years hands-on experience executing DTC eCommerce and CRO efforts
  • Experience with a variety of optimization platforms, as well as adjacent technology stacks (web analytics, user engagement analytics, CMS). Able to lead implementation / configuration discussions pertaining to a project's HTML design, data feed, tagging, tracking, and JS experience functionality needs.
  • Expertise in generating data-driven insights for development of optimization roadmaps and execution of measurement frameworks in service of test win/loss analyses; competency in manipulating data with a variety of analytics platforms (GA / Looker Studio, Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience within a mid-sized or larger Agency or Consultancy, including client relationship and/or team management
  • Good at managing relationships and engagements with clients as well as internal teams (e.g. Horizon account teams), business partners (e.g. other agencies) and vendors where needed
  • Strong communication, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable in a startup environment: hard working, resourceful, flexible, resilient, positive, comfortable with imperfect information, uncertainty and rapid change

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Certification and/or experience with eCommerce platforms, marketplaces, and analytics solutions highly preferred and will be expected as part of the Night Market training agenda (eg. Adobe Suite, Google Certification, Optimizely, etc.)

Salary Range
$130,000.00 - $150,000.00
A successful applicant's actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual's skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
