Job Title: Facilities & Maintenance Engineer
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 24 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)
Location: Waterloo, IA 50704
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage facilities and maintenance engineering projects.
  • Support facility infrastructure, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary facility improvement and maintenance projects.
  • Provide engineering design for facility, grounds, and production systems.
  • Troubleshoot facility infrastructure and production equipment issues.
  • Coordinate contractors and skilled trades to complete projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and supplier activities.
  • Review Hot Work Requests and Red Tag procedures.
  • Support Emergency Notification Systems (ENS), FM Global, IT, and network-related projects.
  • Perform life safety, building code, environmental, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Support material handling equipment engineering and installation.
  • Research and source materials, equipment, and maintenance services.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • 5+ years coordinating contractors and skilled trades.
  • 3+ years of experience with building infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical, structural).
  • 3+ years of manufacturing, maintenance, or operations engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or Maintenance Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Notification Systems (ENS).
  • Experience with facility infrastructure and production equipment projects.
  • Background in material handling equipment applications and installation.

Work Environment:
  • Shop floor environment with approximately 75% of time spent on the factory floor.
  • Must wear metatarsal safety boots from Day 1.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and production operations.
