About the role
As a Construction Project Commissioning Manager, you will work on a team delivering a hyperscale data center. You will have direct accountability for project quality and commissioning.
This job is part of the Construction Management function. They are responsible for ensuring all deliverables of construction projects are completed on time. This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion. This person is responsible for all Commissioning and Quality Control related projects at the site where they will be assigned. This will include but not be limited to expansions, modifications, retrofits and "new" technology driven projects!
Location: This role is on site in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. (relocation assistance available) This is a full time onsite position.
What you'll do
• Provide Owner's Representation (OR) and Project Management (PM) services.
• Work with owner teams and design teams to manage all Quality and Commissioning
• reporting for delivery of projects.
• Facilitate timely inspections by owner vendors and general contractor vendors to ensure project schedule is met.
• Review vendor and general contractor Quality and Commissioning program plans to ensure conformance with owner standards and project specifications.
• If required, assist with development of testing and inspection procedures in alignment with owner requirements and project specifications.
• Facilitate regular meetings during the project, specifically during commissioning process, to ensure the design specifications are followed, to resolve conflicts, and facilitate construction.
• Assist with management of project punch list development and closeout throughout the project.
• Assist with RFI and submittal processing.
• Work with integrators to confirm all QA/QC requirements are met.
• Provide pre-construction inspections and reviews.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders, including Owner management team and Owner operations team.
• Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the progress of construction. Review the status of work completed during the period covered and confirm work is aligned with the approved drawings and specifications.
• Prepare Project Status and Construction Risk Assessment report. Seek approval for the release of construction funds.
• Review contract drawings, specifications, and opine for completeness and general compliance with best practices.
• Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of your own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams.
What you'll need
• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Commissioning and quality control experience on complex projects (hospitals and medical facilities, laboratories, large commercial buildings, high rise buildings, manufacturing facilities, or power plants and transformers) is required.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
• Preferred Experience
• Experience on data center commissioning is preferred.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset
