NC Controls Engineer

About the Position:

In the Controls Engineer role, you will design and program control systems per customer and Pureflow specifications and complete critical project documents. If you are humble, ready for challenging projects, and enjoy working in a team environment, you could be an ideal candidate. In this position, you will:

  • Develop controls engineering and design strategies to meet the applicable requirements
  • Design control systems and select components to meet required specifications on new projects
  • Select instrumentation to meet required specifications on new projects
  • Prepare project documentation relating to instrumentation and controls components, including spec sheets, design drawings, O&M manuals, and validation documents, as applicable
  • Develop well documented PLC programs using current programming software from Rockwell Automation and Siemens
  • Develop user friendly HMI applications using current programming software from Rockwell Automation and Siemens
  • Support ongoing system operation with troubleshooting and updates through Pureflow's Technical Service Centers
  • Execute special projects and other duties, as assigned
  • Manage time and workload to meet Company needs

Job Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or 3 years of equivalent experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, PLC ladder logic programming, HMI application development
  • Familiarity of industrial instrumentation and control components and systems including, but not limited to, PLC/PAC, analyzers, sensors, valves, power supplies, wiring devices, variable frequency drives, and motor control
  • Proficiency in these software packages is preferred: RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio
  • Ability to read and design electrical schematics
  • Aptitude to troubleshoot industrial control systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of staying cool under pressure from multiple ongoing projects

Working Conditions:

Usual in person office working conditions at Pureflow headquarters in Graham, NC. Occasional travel is required to visit a client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions vary at each location. Extended hours may occasionally be necessary as workloads dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
