The Role

The Document Controller / Engineering Clerk is responsible for managing technical and operational documentation for the facility while supporting requisition activities. This role ensures accurate document control, regulatory compliance, and timely acquisition of materials and services critical to plant operations. This is an on-site role based in Washington, WV.

Expected:

Education & Experience

  • 3-7 years of experience in document control, requisitions, or expediting in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment
  • Experience working with regulated environments (e.g., chemical, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals) is highly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for requisition entry and material tracking
  • Experience with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, OpenText, EDMS)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with plant documentation standards and engineering drawings

  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure documentation accuracy and consistency

Requisition & Supply Chain

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid operational disruptions
  • Track shipments and resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, or discrepancies
  • Collaborate with engineering team to forecast equipment/material needs

Cross-Functional Support

  • Coordinate between procurement, operations, and document control to support capital projects and maintenance activities
  • Assist with documentation for suppliers and service providers
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within documentation processes
  • Generate reports related to expediting metrics, document control status, and inventory levels
