About The Role

Summary

The Credit Analyst Internship provides a student with the opportunity to work closely with the Credit and Commercial Lending teams within a community bank environment. This position is designed as a training experience within the Commercial Credit Department, offering exposure to commercial credit analysis and the inner workings of a community bank.

The intern will work alongside experienced credit professionals and gain hands-on experience supporting day-to-day credit department activities. Throughout the internship, the candidate will gain insight into the bankโ€™s operations, credit processes, and business strategies, while developing a practical understanding of how commercial credit supports relationship banking in a community bank setting.

The compensation minimum wage for this position is $28.00/hourly.

Candidate must be a currently enrolled College student working towards a degree in a business, finance, or economics in Boulder, Colorado

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares financial statement analyses and reviews related credit materials, including accounts receivable and payable agings, tax returns, credit bureau information, and industry-related resources
  • Understands and applies the bankโ€™s credit-related policies and procedures to support credit department activities
  • Assists commercial loan officers with the preparation of loan packages, analyses, and documentation for internal credit review and approval
  • Reviews loan files and supporting documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, compliance, and proper structure
  • Provides day-to-day operational, analytical, and administrative support to the Credit and Commercial Lending departments
  • Leads or assists with ad hoc projects, special assignments, and departmental initiatives, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute wherever support is needed
  • Willingly pitches in on a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, adapting to changing priorities and business needs to help ensure work is completed accurately and timely
  • Performs all job functions in compliance with company policies and applicable federal and state regulations, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and GLBA/privacy requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned

This program, although short term, is designed to help the intern learn the fundamentals of credit analysis through hands-on training and real-world experience. The position provides both the intern and management with clear milestones to track progress, development, and learning throughout the internship.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled College student working towards a degree in a business, finance, or economics in Boulder, Colorado

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Familiarity with personal and business financial statements, including basic financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with teammates across the organization
  • Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude when interacting with others
  • Displays intellectual curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and the confidence to ask thoughtful questions
