Position Overview

Scorers and Loaders are responsible for keeping official tallies of shooters' scores as they compete in events, must be knowledgeable (or willing to learn) official shooting rules and safety protocols and procedures; will restock target throwing machines throughout events; will assist with cleaning fields during/after events; assist with set-up/tear-down and cleaning areas before/after events; wash and distribute water jugs during events; assist with light groundskeeping. Perform other duties at WSRC facility as assigned which are reasonably within scope of duties enumerated above.

Essential Functions

Scorers will have responsibilities that include:

  • Accurately keep/tally scores for competitors.
  • Serve as referee for events.

Loaders will have responsibilities that include:

  • Ensure target throwing machines always have sufficient amount of targets in them.
  • Serve as referee for events.

Scorers/Loaders both have responsibilities that include:

  • Cleaning fields during/after shooting events.
  • Assist with other events to set up tables/chairs/stages.
  • Wash/distribute water jugs for hydration stations.
  • Clean up areas before/after/during WSRC events.
  • Haul trash, tear down boxes and bail cardboard.
  • Litter pick up detail.
  • Shotgun hull pickup/disposal.
  • Light groundskeeping.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires education, knowledge, and mental development equivalent to a minimum of an 8th grade education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefers knowledge of firearm safety.
Employment Conditions

All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment, with or without reasonable accommodation, to be considered for this position:

  • Must be a minimum age of 16.
  • Requires ability to legally be around firearms.
  • Requires ability to lift, carry, and transport loads up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities.
  • Requires ability to work in all climates and weather conditions.
  • Requires availability on most weekends, and some nights or holidays for events.
  • Ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including some long shifts up to 9-10 hours.
  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure criminal history.
