Nuclear Operations Lead

Boston Government Services, LLC., (BGS) is seeking a Nuclear Operations Lead that can support our client on projects requiring extensive experience in nuclear facility operations and safety performance within nuclear facilities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Responsibilities:

  • Support leadership and functions of nuclear operations to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant facility performance.
  • Serve as an accountable leader for operational excellence, nuclear safety culture, and regulatory compliance across assigned programs and facilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and cost performance.
  • Provide oversight of operational assessments, readiness reviews, audits, and corrective action programs.
  • Lead event investigations, causal analysis, and enterprise-level lessons learned implementation.
  • Oversee development, approval, and governance of operating procedures, technical standards, and operational policies.
  • Support major facility modifications, construction projects, and infrastructure upgrades from an operational leadership perspective.
  • Provide risk-informed decision making for high-consequence nuclear operations.
  • Mentor and develop the next generation of nuclear operations leaders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related technical discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in nuclear operations, reactor operations, or nuclear facility management.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams in high-consequence, highly regulated nuclear environments.
  • Proven experience with operational safety performance, regulatory compliance, and nuclear oversight programs.
  • Strong background in project execution, organizational leadership, and strategic planning.
  • Successful drug screen.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Active DOE Q or TS clearance.
  • Experience leading construction, commissioning, or major modification projects within nuclear facilities.
  • Prior experience in commercial nuclear power, DOE complex, naval nuclear propulsion, or advanced reactor programs.
  • INPO-accredited operations leadership experience (if commercial nuclear).
  • Executive-level briefing experience and demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • Onsite in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
  • Schedule is full-time, 40-hour work week.
