Job description

Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Nuclear Stockpile Stewardship SME to support Headquarters United States Air Force (HAF/A10). In this role, you will assist HAF/A10 in developing and coordinating AF strategic-level policy; formulating and implementing AF future strategic concepts; developing and disseminating AF views on strategic deterrence policies; and codifying AF nuclear deterrence strategy in DoW strategic policy and Joint doctrine.
The HAF/A10 contract delivers technical, analytical, operational, programmatic, and planning subject-matter expertise to HAF/A10 and its component divisions to advance national security strategic plans, policies, concepts, and initiatives.
This is a full-time position, located on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Nuclear Stockpile Analysis and Policy Recommendations. Conduct research and analysis on nuclear stockpile sustainment issues. Synthesize information from stakeholders to develop formal policy positions, recommendations, and analytical products for government consideration.
  • Manage Staff Packages and Document Review. Serve as the focal point for coordinating all nuclear stockpile-related staff packages. Review and provide formal comments on a broad array of sustainment-related documents from internal and external organizations.
  • Support Forum and Interagency Engagement. Attend and participate in designated nuclear stockpile-related technical discussions, meetings, wargames, and interagency forums. Analyze all exchanged information to identify impacts on AF/A10XC equities.
  • Maintain Historical and Programmatic Archives. Document and organize current and historical data related to nuclear stockpile activities to maintain programmatic continuity.
  • Provide Pre-Forum Analytical and Administrative Support for the Nuclear Oversight Council (NOC). Coordinate and consolidate agenda topics and briefing materials from relevant stakeholders to prepare senior leaders for participation in the NOC and other forums.
    • Support Forum Execution and Documentation: Provide logistical and administrative support during forum execution to capture a comprehensive record of all discussions and strategic decisions
    • Manage Post-Forum Follow-Up Actions. Monitor and document the progress of all tasks assigned during governance forums to ensure timely completion.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain TS/SCI level clearance with SAP and SAR eligibility
Education: Bachelor's degree
Years of Experience: Twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline; to include five (5) years of DoD experience
Additional Experience:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of nuclear stockpile stewardship requirements at National, DoD, Joint, and Service levels
  • Demonstrated experience working and coordinating with DoD and non-DoD offices on nuclear enterprise matters

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree
Years of Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline; to include five (5) years of DoD experience
Additional Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience working in complex environments with multiple POCs
  • Demonstrated experience generating briefings; drafting information, white papers, and decision papers
  • Drafting testimony and articles for publication -Preparing senior Government personnel for public speaking engagements
