The location in West Carrollton, OH is seeking talent to fill the position of Process Engineer.
Job Summary
The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by optimizing processes to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. This role provides technical expertise, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and partners with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence within the facility.
Key Responsibilities - Organizational Effectiveness
  • Provide technical oversight of operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and product quality
  • Provide technical training to workforce on process improvements and process changes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, and quality control)
  • Lead process optimization efforts, including raw material and energy inputs
  • Participate in DMS and utilize data analytics to monitor KPIs
  • Read and interpret P&IDs
  • Support CAPEX projects including upgrades and new technology implementation
  • Interact with vendors to improve productivity and quality
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Act as a technical coach providing training and mentorship

Key Responsibilities - Process Optimization
  • Identify and support cost reduction projects
  • Develop and run chemical, process, and quality trials
  • Develop training materials and procedures for operators
  • Apply process engineering methods across paper machine operations
  • Evaluate process control loops
  • Participate in shutdown planning and execution
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Translate technical information clearly for operators

Key Responsibilities - Quality
  • Apply HPI processes to identify root causes of off-quality events
  • Track solutions in Enablon system
  • Develop techniques to improve quality
  • Support customer complaint resolution

Key Responsibilities - Continuous Improvement
  • Use Lean tools (Six Sigma, DMAIC, FMEA)
  • Perform RCFA and RCPE
  • Develop process control strategies
  • Explore machine learning opportunities

Key Responsibilities - Safety
  • Lead by example as a safety advocate
  • Drive root cause identification and corrective actions
  • Ensure documentation and follow-up

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or related field
  • Minimum four years of manufacturing/process experience
  • Strong communication, analytical, and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Experience implementing process improvements
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices
  • Experience with SAP, PI, Excel, and PARCView

Critical Competencies
  • Strong communication at all levels
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
