What is a contractual applied behavior analysis adjunct faculty?

Contractual Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Adjunct Faculty are part-time instructors hired on a contract basis by colleges or universities to teach courses related to applied behavior analysis. Their responsibilities often include preparing and delivering lectures, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and providing guidance in the field of ABA. These faculty members typically have practical experience and advanced education in behavior analysis, and their contracts are usually limited in duration, such as a semester or academic year.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contractual applied behavior analysis adjunct faculty?

To thrive as a Contractual Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Adjunct Faculty, you need a strong background in ABA principles, teaching experience, and typically a master's degree or higher in behavior analysis or a related field. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), data analysis software, and, in many cases, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification are commonly required. Excellent communication, organization, and mentoring skills make candidates stand out by fostering student engagement and supporting diverse learners. These skills are crucial for delivering high-quality instruction, ensuring student success, and maintaining academic standards in ABA education.

Contractual ABA Adjunct Faculty often juggle teaching responsibilities alongside clinical practice or research roles, which can make time management a significant challenge. • Hold and maintain required office hours or other opportunities for student consultation.
  • Provide approved academic accommodations to students with documented disabilities.
  • Identify and communicate concerns related to student progress, academic integrity, or professional conduct to the Program Director or other appropriate college personnel in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and other faculty to promote consistency across course sections and support student success.

  • Uphold the ethical and professional standards of behavior analysis and the mission, policies, and values of Regis College.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to engage and support a diverse population of graduate students in an online learning environment.
  • Ability to use or learn instructional technologies, including a learning-management system, videoconferencing software, university email, and standard office applications.
  • Ability to uphold Regis College's commitment to inclusive excellence and its mission of educating and serving the whole person.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching graduate-level behavior-analysis courses.
  • Previous experience teaching in an online or accelerated course format.
  • Professional expertise in one or more areas represented in the program curriculum.
  • Experience working with students and clients from diverse cultural, linguistic, socioeconomic, and professional backgrounds.
