Job description

We are seeking an Overhead Crane Coordinator to join our Cold Rolling Maintenance team in Calvert, North Mobile County, Alabama.
Schedule: Day Shift (On-Call Support Required)
Objective: Responsible for leading and coordinating activities of Day shift resources, including all aspects of overhead cranes maintenance (19 overhead cranes and 25 Jibs cranes, monorail hoist, packages). As a coordinator is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance plans, equipment and services in a manner which maximizes Crane PM completion and crane availability. Responsibilities include Contractor coordinator for time and materials contracting like environmental cleaning, scaffolding building and Maintenance Technician for cost tracking and hours tracking.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of overhead crane standards and complaints
  • Strong crane electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Previous people-management experience is preferred
  • CMAA
  • Proven knowledge of OSHA Standards Cranes, Gantries, Monorails and Jibs cranes
  • ASME B30.2 Standards
  • Day force time keep would be a plus.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Power point
  • Strong SAP skills

Direct reports: 2, plus contractors.
Available for on call.

Some of the key activities you will be responsible for:
  • Ensure that the organization's SOPs are followed and enforced up to and including disciplinary actions.
  • Report and administrative requirements, i.e., vacation, payroll, production, etc.
  • Facilitate the skill progression of all team members. This includes cross training between Electrical and Mechanical for Crane Technicians.
  • Ensure Team members are trained in job related skills and qualified per their job requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for the Team.
  • Provide team skills leadership and support for the Team.
  • Ensure that all incoming material is inspected and meets OTK requirements.
  • Coordinate with management on storage locations for new material.
  • Responsible for inputting maintenance requests for the department and ensuring the work is completed.
  • Ensure that housekeeping in the area is kept up to standards.
  • Assist Technicians when an in-depth issue arises with equipment.
  • Ensure that the mill service contactor follows all safety regulations and meets company's Safety expectations.
  • Ensure mobile equipment is up to safety standards and all paperwork is filed.
  • Contact the mill service contractors in the event of breakdowns.
  • Assist Operators in the event of breakdowns and coordinates with Shift Coordinator to obtain maintenance assistance.
  • Upholds environmental and safety compliance requirements.
  • Identify environmental opportunities for improvement
  • Create PR's in SAP and follow up on orders
  • Create Maintenance plans in SAP
  • Create work orders for corrective work found on schedule PMs
  • Work with the different areas on the Costing of each area.
  • Ability to work in teams for contractor tracking.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
  • Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs, ladders and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
  • Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
  • Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
  • Ability to frequently use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
  • Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
  • Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques.

Salary range: USD.92,400-127,100 plus bonus.
