Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Job Description
This role focuses on operating CNC equipment to cut, band, and drill cabinet parts in a wood manufacturing environment. You will use your mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn to produce high-quality components while working closely with a team. You will regularly troubleshoot machines to maintain efficiency and product quality, contributing directly to smooth and reliable production.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines to cut, band, and drill cabinet parts according to production specifications and blueprints.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate dimensions, materials, and machining processes.
- Perform routine machine setup, including loading materials, configuring settings, and preparing tools and fixtures.
- Make adjustments to machines as needed to maintain proper operation, product quality, and production efficiency.
- Conduct quality checks on finished and in-process parts using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Monitor machine performance during production runs and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and defects.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of machine operator experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Experience performing quality checks on manufactured parts.
- Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machine and process issues.
- Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience making machine adjustments during production to optimize performance and quality.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to learn new processes and equipment through on-the-job training.
Work Environment
The role is based in a wood manufacturing environment that is non-temperature controlled, requiring comfort with varying seasonal conditions. You will work around industrial machinery and materials in a busy production setting. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficient workflow, with access to CNC equipment and standard measurement tools used in cabinet and component manufacturing.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Teutopolis, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
