Wood is currently recruiting for a Scheduler with experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.  This opportunity is onsite in Narrows, VA, United States.

The Scheduler will be responsible for supporting the Capital Projects Group at an active chemical manufacturing facility.

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant scheduling experience including experience building resource-loaded schedules.
  • Practical applied experience in capital project scheduling, preferably associated with capital projects implemented in chemical or refining facilities.
  • Proficient with Primavera's P6 or Microsoft Project scheduling systems. 
  • experienced in the use of Microsoft's suite of office products.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project resource loaded schedules supporting various stages of a project as part of the project team.
  • Meet with Project Engineering and Operations resources on a weekly and monthly basis to maintain accurate project scheduling dates for both short term and long-term horizons
  • Convert contractor manpower estimates into an executable plan/schedule.  Work with contract work groups/planners/Construction Coordinators/etc. to develop schedules.  Use work breakdown structures, construction packages, and other information as part of the development of project schedules including scheduling logic and critical paths. 
  • Provide regular manpower/resourcing load reports to project engineering leadership for both short term and long-term horizons to aid in workforce staffing and planning based on portfolio of planned/scheduled projects. 
  • Monitor forecast and actual project spending as a means of improving the scheduling process.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and communicate that to the project team.
  • Recognize and communicate schedule issues as they arise.
  • Co-operate with WOOD's and client's HSSE core values by following all relevant health and safety policies and practicing safe work habits.
