Job description

Job Title: Electrical Wiring Technician – Modular Data Centers
Job Description

This role focuses on refurbishing and repurposing modular data centers that have already been in service. You will perform electrical modifications, wiring, and panel upgrades to transform surplus equipment into reliable, production-ready data center modules. The position combines hands-on electrical work with blueprint and schematic reading to ensure each modular building meets updated specifications and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Modify surplus data center equipment and gear to meet updated functional and safety requirements.
  • Upgrade electrical panels and panel housings, including installation and replacement of components as needed.
  • Install and adjust AC systems and lighting within modular data center buildings when required.
  • Lay out, install, and route conduit to support electrical and controls wiring throughout the modular units.
  • Perform controls wiring for control panels and associated systems, following schematics and design documents.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics to plan and execute wiring and modifications accurately.
  • Build, assemble, and wire electrical panels and switchgear in accordance with production standards and project specifications.
  • Use hand tools and electrical assembly tools safely and effectively to complete wiring and panel building tasks.
  • Conduct electrical modifications and adjustments to modular buildings to support new configurations and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production team members to ensure that refurbished modular data centers are completed on time and meet quality expectations.
  • Inspect completed work for proper operation, neatness of wiring, and adherence to electrical standards and internal guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including care and management of personal tools and equipment.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2+ years of hands-on wiring experience in an electrical or production environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Experience performing electrical modifications on equipment, panels, or building systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform controls wiring for control panels and related systems.
  • Strong skills in electrical assembly, panel building, and panel wiring.
  • Experience working with switchgear and controls in a production or assembly setting.
  • Ability to install and route conduit for electrical and control circuits.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and electrical tools for assembly and wiring tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed technical documentation and instructions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, organized, and reliable electrical work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of wiring experience across multiple industries is highly preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Work takes place in a production and assembly environment focused on modular data centers, involving electrical panels, switchgear, controls, conduit, and related equipment. You will use a variety of hand tools and electrical tools to perform wiring, panel building, and modifications. Team members are expected to bring and use their own tools. The environment is hands-on and fast-paced, with a focus on safety, quality, and collaboration as refurbished modules move through the production process.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
