Job Description

Reliance One, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Hydraulic Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and optimizing hydraulic systems used in advanced test bench products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fluid power systems, industrial equipment, and multidisciplinary engineering collaboration. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects involving high-pressure hydraulic systems, custom machinery, and integrated controls solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design hydraulic circuits and create detailed schematics for custom machinery and test systems
  • Perform hydraulic modeling, calculations, and simulations to optimize system pressure, flow, and efficiency
  • Select and validate hydraulic components including pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and proportional control systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic system failures to minimize downtime and improve performance
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including BOMs, schematics, design reviews, and test reports
  • Collaborate with electrical controls, manufacturing, and production teams to integrate hydraulic systems into complete machine designs
  • Support onsite troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning activities as needed
  • Participate in FMEA reviews, code compliance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with estimating and quoting projects when required


Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in hydraulic system design and development
  • Experience working with industrial equipment or hydraulic testing systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, closed-loop systems, and proportional hydraulic controls
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex fluid power systems
  • Experience with electro-hydraulic controls or PLC programming is a plus
  • Mechanical and/or structural design experience is beneficial


Software Experience

  • AutoCAD
  • SolidWorks experience is a plus
