2026 Season
The following positions are proposed for the 2025 Danbury High School Marching Band season. Each role includes a stipend based on level of responsibility, time commitment, and scope of instruction.
Low Brass Technician
Job Description:
Reports to the Marching Band Director. Provides instruction to low brass students in individual and ensemble technique, tone production, and marching performance.
- Fall commitment includes 6 hours/day during Band Camp and approximately 15 hours/week during the regular season.
- Stipend: $1,000
High Brass Technician
Job Description:
Supports the Low Brass Technician by focusing on high brass players. Reinforces daily fundamentals, assists with sectionals, and provides individualized instruction under the Band Director's supervision.
Woodwind Caption Head
Job Description:
Oversees all woodwind instruction and coordinates efforts between woodwind and brass techs. Plans and leads rehearsals, sectionals, and contributes to full ensemble progress.
- Commitment includes Band Camp and approximately 15 hours/week during the season
- Stipend: $2,000
Visual Technician #1
Job Description:
Collaborates with the Visual Caption Head and Band Director to teach marching technique, posture, and body movement. Plays a key role in cleaning drill and reinforcing visual consistency across the ensemble.
Visual Technician #2
Job Description:
Collaborates with the Visual Caption Head and Band Director to teach marching technique, posture, and body movement. Plays a key role in cleaning drill and reinforcing visual consistency across the ensemble.
Color Guard Caption Head
Job Description:
Leads all aspects of the Color Guard program including choreography, equipment technique, and performance quality. Coordinates with staff to ensure excellence and consistency across the program.
Front Ensemble Technician #1
Job Description:
Instructs pit percussion students in technique and ensemble integration. Ensures instrument maintenance and coordination with the percussion program. Reports to the Band Director and works closely with the Percussion Caption Head.
Front Ensemble Technician #2
Job Description:
Instructs pit percussion students in technique and ensemble integration. Ensures instrument maintenance and coordination with the percussion program. Reports to the Band Director and works closely with the Percussion Caption Head.
Bass Technician
Job Description:
Teaches battery percussion technique and coordinates music with drill. Focuses on maintaining musical standards and section cohesion. Reports to the Band Director and Percussion Caption Head.
Snare Technician
Job Description:
Teaches battery percussion technique and coordinates music with drill. Focuses on maintaining musical standards and section cohesion. Reports to the Band Director and Percussion Caption Head.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Past Performance experience in marching ensembles (marching band, drum corps, winter percussion)
- DCI, DCA, WGI, or college marching band experience a plus
