Job Title:PC/Laptop Imaging & Deployment Technician

Location: Annapolis, MD 21401

Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite

Job Type: Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a PC Deployment / Hardware Refresh Technician to support a large-scale desktop and laptop refresh project. The technician will be responsible for imaging, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Dell desktop and laptop systems while providing excellent customer support to end users throughout the deployment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Image Dell laptops, desktops, and all-in-one workstations using approved deployment tools and procedures.
  • Deploy and install newly imaged equipment at county office locations.
  • Transport IT equipment safely between facilities using a county-provided vehicle.
  • Disconnect, inventory, document, and retire existing hardware during refresh activities.
  • Configure and set up new computers, peripherals, and software for end users.
  • Install approved software packages and perform post-deployment validation.
  • Assist users with transitioning to new equipment and provide basic orientation.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
  • Ensure proper domain connectivity, printer access, network drive mapping, and VPN functionality.
  • Maintain accurate asset management records and deployment documentation.
  • Coordinate deployment schedules with project managers and IT staff.
  • Adhere to organizational IT security policies, procedures, and standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience supporting PC deployment, desktop refresh, or hardware migration projects.
  • Hands-on experience with imaging technologies such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), SCCM/MECM, or similar tools.
  • Experience deploying and configuring Dell laptops and desktop systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing and supporting enterprise software applications.
  • Understanding of Active Directory environments, domain joins, and user account support.
  • Familiarity with network connectivity troubleshooting, printers, VPNs, and shared resources.
  • Ability to disconnect, replace, and reconnect workstation hardware and peripherals.
  • Strong documentation and asset-tracking skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple deployment locations.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent.
  • Experience working within government, public sector, or enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory administration.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.
  • Experience with BitLocker encryption management.
  • Knowledge of Dell Command | Deploy and Dell BIOS configuration utilities.
