About Us:

NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is responsible for the licensing and distribution of NBCUniversal product to all forms of television and new media platforms in the U.S., Canada and in over 200 territories internationally. NBCUniversal's content portfolio includes a vast and diverse library of more than 6,500 feature films and 170,000 television episodes, including current and classic titles, non-scripted programming, kids, sports, news, long-form and short-form programming from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Sky Studios, NBC Late Night properties, DreamWorks Animation, Telemundo, and more, as well as locally produced content from around the world. Global TV Distribution is a division of Comcast NBCUniversal.

Overview:

The Contract Specialist Admin provides support to the VP, Business and Legal Affairs - Global TV Distribution Business & Legal Affairs and is responsible for handling television license agreements and other business administration tasks as set out below.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting and negotiating contracts, primarily related to the licensing of film and television content for global television and digital/new media partners. This includes agreements across various distribution channels such as free, basic, and pay television, as well as SVOD, PPV/VOD, EST, and other emerging media, utilizing the in-house contract management system (SAFE).
  • Prepare short form license agreements, deal memos, amendments and any other legal documents as needed.
  • Identify, research, and help resolve business and legal issues, including those related to contract interpretation, while providing ongoing legal guidance and support to sales, marketing, technology, and administrative teams.
  • Review post-execution agreements and input key deal terms into ONIT application.
  • Provide support on special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience performing similar responsibilities, preferably with experience in Business Affairs or Legal Affairs in a movie studio, production company, record label, or music publishing company.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and summarize contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and diligently with little supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Adept and comfortable working with a variety of online tools and databases.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a range of personalities and styles and to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented team player, able to work in a fast-paced, high pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Previous experience in international licensing of entertainment product is a plus.

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000.
