Position is contingent upon contract award and funding.

Entarian is seeking an experienced Technical Writer / CDRL Author to manage the development, quality, coordination, and delivery of program documentation and contractual deliverables supporting complex defense and federal programs. The Technical Writer / CDRL Author is responsible for ensuring all Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items, technical documentation, reports, briefings, and program artifacts are developed, reviewed, approved, and delivered in accordance with contract requirements, customer expectations, and program time-lines.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing technical documentation and deliverables in large-scale technical environments involving space systems, ground infrastructure, mission operations, communications networks, cybersecurity, cloud environments, or enterprise IT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for program deliverables, ensuring all contractual and technical documentation requirements are tracked, managed, and delivered on schedule.
  • Manage the development, review, approval, and submission of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables, including technical reports, management plans, engineering documentation, and program artifacts.
  • Establish and maintain program deliverables processes, schedules, work-flows, and quality control standards.
  • Coordinate with program managers, technical leads, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, operations teams, subcontractors, and customer stakeholders to collect, validate, and finalize deliverable content.
  • Maintain deliverable tracking tools, status dashboards, action item logs, and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into program documentation health and execution.
  • Review technical content for accuracy, completeness, consistency, compliance with contract requirements, and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Manage document life-cycle processes including development, internal reviews, customer review cycles, revisions, approvals, configuration control, and final submission.
  • Support development and maintenance of technical documentation including system descriptions, engineering reports, architecture documents, test reports, operational procedures, cybersecurity artifacts, training materials, and program plans.
  • Coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams and ensure technical content is properly integrated into final deliverables.
  • Support technical writing activities including editing, formatting, document restructuring, and development of executive-level briefings and communications.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with customer formatting standards, security classification requirements, data handling requirements, and contract-specific instructions.
  • Identify schedule risks, content gaps, and resource constraints impacting deliverable completion and coordinate mitigation actions.
  • Support proposal activities, contract transitions, and customer engagements requiring technical documentation development.
  • Develop executive-level status reports and briefings summarizing deliverable performance, risks, milestones, and upcoming requirements.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with government customers, program leadership, technical teams, and external partners.

Salary range: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00

Minimum Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred depending on program requirements).
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience managing technical documentation, program deliverables, CDRLs, or contract reporting requirements supporting government or commercial programs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex documentation efforts across engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and program management teams.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and delivering technical documentation in accordance with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Experience managing document schedules, review cycles, approvals, and delivery time-lines.
  • Strong understanding of technical writing principles, document quality control, and configuration management processes.
  • Experience coordinating inputs from technical subject matter experts and translating complex technical concepts into clear documentation.
  • Ability to interpret contract requirements, statements of work (SOWs), CDRLs, and deliverable instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage technical teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power-Point, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% to support customer locations, program reviews, and mission partner engagements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, NASA, Intelligence Community, or other federal programs.
  • Experience managing CDRLs, Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) deliverables, technical data packages, and government review cycles.
  • Experience supporting classified programs and handling technical documentation within controlled environments.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, document repositories, and collaboration tools such as Share-Point, Confluence, Jira, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering, cybersecurity, cloud, mission operations, or space-related technical documentation.
  • Experience developing technical proposals, white papers, executive briefings, and engineering reports.
  • Familiarity with government documentation standards including MIL-STD, DoD technical publications, or customer-specific documentation requirements.
  • Experience leading documentation teams or coordinating multiple technical writers and subject matter experts.
  • PMP, Technical Writing, Information Management, or related professional certification.
