Job description

Contract Staff Accountant LHH Recruitment Solutions is on the hunt for a Temporary Staff Accountant to support the accounting team of a well-established manufacturing company in Central Phoenix. This is a hands-on accounting position requiring strong experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
The ideal candidate will be able to step into the role quickly, work independently, and manage accounting responsibilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare, post, and maintain a high volume of journal entries.
  • Perform detailed account and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and period-end close activities.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and accounting reports.
  • Assist with accruals, adjustments, and other general accounting activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with other members of the accounting and finance teams to meet close deadlines.
  • Assist with additional accounting projects and duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of Staff Accountant or General Accounting experience.
  • Extensive journal entry preparation and posting experience is required.
  • Strong experience performing account reconciliations.
  • Proven month-end close experience.
  • Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and accounting principles.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Manufacturing or distribution industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and hit tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be comfortable working fully onsite in Central Phoenix.
COMPENSATION & DETAILS
  • Up to $33/hour
  • Temporary assignment lasting up to 10 weeks
  • Monday-Friday schedule
  • 100% onsite in Central Phoenix
  • Immediate need for an experienced accounting professional who can contribute with minimal training
