Job description

Position Summary:-

The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies for line pipe products serving the oil & gas, pipeline, energy, and industrial markets. This position manages customer relationships, identifies new business opportunities, negotiates commercial agreements, and works closely with operations, supply chain, quality, and finance teams to ensure profitable and timely order execution. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of the line pipe industry, established relationships with pipeline operators, EPC contractors, distributors, and end users, and a proven record of achieving sales and profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities:-

 

  • Develop and execute annual sales strategies for line pipe products and related services.
  • Achieve revenue, gross-margin, volume, and customer-development targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with pipeline operators, EPC companies, distributors, fabricators, and other key customers.
  • Identify and pursue new projects, bid opportunities, tenders, and long-term supply agreements.
  • Monitor market conditions, steel and pipe pricing, competitor activity, customer demand, and industry trends.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, commercial offers, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage the sales pipeline from initial opportunity through quotation, award, order placement, and delivery.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, quality, and finance teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Review customer specifications, project requirements, applicable standards, and commercial terms.
  • Participate in customer meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and project-development activities.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records, opportunity reports, and management updates.
  • Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with required margins.
  • Resolve customer issues and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support credit, collections, contract administration, and order-management activities.
  • Develop strategic accounts and identify opportunities for increased market share.
  • Provide management with regular forecasts, market intelligence, competitive analysis, and sales performance reports.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of sales experience in line pipe, OCTG, steel pipe, tubular products.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B industrial sales and business development.
  • Strong understanding of line pipe specifications, grades, coatings, manufacturing processes, and applicable industry standards.
  • Established relationships within the oil & gas, pipeline, EPC, energy, or industrial markets preferred.
  • Proven ability to negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and financial skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales-reporting tools.

 

Preferred Technical Knowledge

Knowledge of applicable standards and specifications such as:

  • API 5L
  • ASME B31.4 and B31.8
  • ASTM/API material specifications
  • PSL 1 and PSL 2 requirements
  • ERW, HFW, SAW pipe manufacturing
  • Line pipe coatings and corrosion protection
  • Hydrostatic testing and inspection requirements
  • MTRs, traceability, NDE/NDT, and quality documentation
  • Pipeline project procurement and EPC contracting processes

Company Description

With 35 years of experience in pipe manufacturing, the P.R. Jindal Group has set up a state-of-the-art HFERW mill through its venture, Jindal Pipe USA Inc. Located in Baytown, TX, the mill has an installed capacity of 300,000 tons per year with a size range of 8.625′′ to 26′′ OD. This is the first mill in the United States to produce 26′′ OD HFERW pipe.

Customers include large gas transmission companies, midstream companies, structural contractors, and pipe distributors throughout North America.

JPU is the only pipe mill capable of manufacturing 0.688′′ wall thickness in the ERW process, and operates a state-of-the-art KML Sensors pipe laser measurement system to ensure industry-leading dimensional accuracy on every length we ship.
