Job description

Senior Paid Media Specialist
1 year contract
Remote (Must be located in the US)
Hourly Rate: $60/hr
About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Paid Media Specialist to build and lead a paid media agency strategy from the ground up.
This is a highly operational role for someone who enjoys owning campaigns from strategy and setup through optimization, testing, and reporting. You will manage the full campaign lifecycle while partnering directly with merchant partners to drive growth in web ordering and delivery volume through paid media.
This is not a "manage-the-manager" position. The ideal candidate is comfortable getting into the platforms, building campaigns, analyzing performance, testing new approaches, and turning data into clear business decisions.
If you thrive on building from scratch, testing relentlessly, and using performance data to identify scalable growth opportunities, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Paid Media Strategy & Agency Management
  • Build and own the overall paid media agency strategy, including agency selection, onboarding, workflow development, and performance accountability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and external agency partners.
  • Ensure paid media campaigns align with broader business and growth objectives.
  • Develop scalable campaign standards, processes, and paid media playbooks.
  • Establish clear expectations and performance frameworks for agency partners.

Hands-On Campaign Management
  • Own the complete campaign lifecycle, including briefing, campaign setup, launch, optimization, and performance reporting.
  • Directly manage and optimize paid media campaigns across:
    • Meta Ads Manager
    • Google Ads
    • TikTok Ads
    • Display and other relevant digital advertising channels
  • Manage paid media budgets and optimize spend to improve acquisition efficiency and campaign performance.
  • Develop audience targeting frameworks and creative strategies focused on customer acquisition and retention.
  • Analyze campaign performance and make data-driven optimization decisions.

Testing, Experimentation & Learning
  • Design and execute structured A/B testing programs across:
    • Bidding strategies
    • Creative formats and messaging
    • Landing pages
    • Audience targeting strategies
  • Analyze testing results and clearly document what worked, what did not, and why.
  • Develop case studies and reusable campaign playbooks based on testing outcomes.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate creative development, campaign analysis, and experimentation.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve testing velocity and paid media performance.

Merchant Partner Growth
  • Partner directly with merchant partners to develop customized paid media strategies focused on increasing web ordering and delivery volume.
  • Translate merchant growth objectives into actionable paid media campaign plans.
  • Communicate campaign performance, opportunities, and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analyze full-funnel customer performance from ad click through order completion.
  • Identify conversion gaps and optimization opportunities throughout the customer journey.

Analytics & Performance Reporting
  • Own regular campaign reporting and performance review cadences.
  • Clearly communicate campaign wins, challenges, insights, and optimization opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Data and Analytics teams to support attribution modeling and incrementality measurement.
  • Evaluate campaign results to determine what truly drove performance before recommending additional spend.
  • Use data to validate results and identify scalable growth opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of hands-on paid media experience, with demonstrated ownership of campaigns from initial setup through optimization and reporting.
  • Deep experience with major paid media platforms, including:
    • Meta Ads Manager
    • Google Ads
    • TikTok Ads
    • Other relevant paid social, search, and display platforms
  • Proven ability to develop and execute structured paid media testing programs.
  • Experience translating campaign results into actionable case studies, insights, and scalable playbooks.
  • Experience developing paid media strategies for external partners or clients.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in:
    • Attribution modeling
    • Incrementality testing
    • Funnel and conversion analysis
  • Experience managing or collaborating with external media agencies.
  • Comfortable incorporating AI tools into daily workflows, including creative concepting, performance analysis, and campaign experimentation.
  • Self-starter with the ability to build programs from scratch and operate independently in environments without established processes or playbooks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous agency experience or experience working within an agency environment.
  • Experience marketing to restaurants, local merchants, or businesses within marketplace or delivery platforms.
  • Experience with mobile app marketing and attribution platforms such as Adjust or AppsFlyer.
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking implementation.
  • Experience marketing subscription-based products or digital services.
