Company Description
Steeped in a tradition of hydropower, American Hydro is a leading supplier and installer of large equipment for the hydro electric industry, specializing in design, engineering, precision CNC manufacture, upgrades and servicing of high-performance, hydro-turbines and large pumps.
We are currently looking for a Field Service Technician to add to our team located at our York, PA facility. We are a tight-knit group that takes a great deal of pride in what we produce. Job Description
The Field Service Technician will act as an interface between the customer, American Hydro, and subcontractors. The FST will be responsible for managing site operations, including disassembly, re-assembly, machining, and welding operations. Authorized in resolution of personnel issues at site to include disposition of all craft labor contracted for the project. The FST will report to the FSR onsite or manage projects of their own.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
  • Site leadership role responsible for hydro turbine and generator disassembly, field machining reassembly, alignment, and commissioning of the units
  • Responsible for managing assigned projects within budgeted cost and schedule requirements
  • Liaison between customers and the American Hydro Project Manager and Project Engineer
  • Supervises assigned Field Service Technicians and Foreman and associated craft labor at a multi-shift union or non-union hydro project.
  • Manages major subcontractors at site: Labor, Machining, Coatings, etc.
  • Maintains and submits project documentation per the contract requirements.
  • Coordinates Field Service shipping, activities, and schedules to meet Field Service and shop requirements.
  • Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements as it relates to these tasks.
