Cyber Communications & Product Development Consultant - Senior Associate

Job Summary: Lafayette Group is seeking talented professionals to work with federal government organizations in support of national cybersecurity programs. The Cyber Communications & Product Development Consultant will help develop, improve, and deliver cybersecurity products, stakeholder engagement initiatives, customer experience activities, and digital communications solutions that support coordinated cyber defense efforts across government and industry. This role is ideal for individuals who combine strong communications, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a passion for creating impactful products and stakeholder experiences. The successful candidate will support product development activities, conduct stakeholder research, analyze feedback and engagement data, create strategic communications materials, and help drive continuous improvement across the cybersecurity product lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and delivery of cybersecurity products, stakeholder engagement initiatives, and strategic communications efforts.
  • Conduct stakeholder research, interviews, surveys, and data collection activities.
  • Analyze customer feedback, engagement metrics, and performance data to identify insights and recommendations.
  • Develop reports, presentations, communication materials, stakeholder products, and briefing packages.
  • Assist with customer experience initiatives, including stakeholder mapping, persona development, journey mapping, and feedback analysis.
  • Support digital communications campaigns, content development, website content management, and outreach activities.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements while documenting findings and action items.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve product quality, stakeholder engagement, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support project management, task tracking, and coordination activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen product delivery and customer outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Political Science, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience supporting strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, customer experience, digital communications, product development, management consulting, or related fields.
  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation development skills.
  • Experience conducting research, analyzing information, and developing recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain suitability, including successful completion of background investigation and fingerprinting requirements.

Desired Qualifications:
Candidates who bring one or more of the following complementary skill areas are especially encouraged to apply:
  • Experience supporting DHS, CISA, or other federal agencies.
  • Experience developing strategic communications products, reports, briefings, newsletters, websites, or digital content.
  • Experience supporting customer experience, human-centered design, or stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Experience conducting surveys, focus groups, interviews, or qualitative research.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Power BI, Tableau, SharePoint, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with digital analytics, stakeholder engagement metrics, or performance measurement approaches.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, emergency management, or public safety programs.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot or generative AI platforms to improve content development and analysis.
  • Relevant certifications in communications, marketing, project management, customer experience, or data analytics.

Location: Arlington, VA/Hybrid or Remote
Federal Contracts: This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000
