What is a contract private jet broker?

Contract Private Jet Brokers are professionals who act as intermediaries between clients seeking private jet travel and operators who own or manage private aircraft. They negotiate contracts, arrange flight details, and ensure that clients receive the best aircraft and services to meet their travel needs. These brokers often work on a freelance or contract basis, rather than being employed by a single brokerage firm. Their responsibilities include sourcing aircraft, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations. Clients rely on their industry knowledge and networks to secure safe, efficient, and cost-effective private jet charters.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract private jet broker?

To thrive as a Contract Private Jet Broker, you need a thorough understanding of aviation regulations, charter sales, and customer service, often supported by experience in sales or the aviation industry. Familiarity with booking software, aviation management systems, and CRM tools is typically required. Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build relationships with both clients and operators make someone stand out in this position. These skills are crucial for ensuring client satisfaction, securing profitable deals, and maintaining regulatory compliance in a competitive market.

What are some common challenges faced by contract private jet brokers, and how can these be managed effectively?

Contract Private Jet Brokers often encounter challenges such as managing last-minute client requests, coordinating with multiple vendors, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations. Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Building a reliable network of operators and fostering clear communication with clients and partners can help brokers deliver seamless travel experiences while overcoming these common hurdles.

Job description

Join Luxaviation USA as a Senior Charter Broker

Luxaviation Group delivers excellence in a comprehensive range of business aviation services tailored to our clients and partners. We are committed to the highest safety standards and strive to create a fulfilling work environment by fostering genuine, open, and engaging relationships with passionate professionals.

To strengthen our presence in the U.S. market, Luxaviation USA is actively seeking an experienced Senior Charter Broker, ideally based in or with a strong network in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, or Houston.

About the Role

As a Senior Charter Broker, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of high-net-worth and corporate clients. You will play a key role in the end-to-end coordination of on-demand charter flights — from quote to execution — ensuring a flawless client experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop and manage a high-value client portfolio (UHNWI, corporate accounts, family offices, etc.)
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities through strategic networking and industry intelligence
  • Build and deliver bespoke commercial offers and charter quotes in a competitive environment
  • Negotiate, close, and manage contracts tailored to client needs with the highest service standards
  • Oversee the complete charter process: from flight planning, aircraft sourcing, and coordination to post-flight follow-up
  • Collaborate with flight operations, crew, and handling agents to ensure operational excellence
  • Provide high-touch client service including VIP meet & greet when relevant
  • Be available for on-call duties (evenings/weekends on a rotating basis)
  • Ensure proper invoicing, payment follow-up, and budgetary compliance for each operation

Profile and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in private jet charter brokerage or a similar high-end sales role
  • Proven track record of closing deals and managing demanding clients
  • Strong understanding of charter operations and aircraft performance
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic, autonomous, and results-driven mindset
  • Fluent English required; Spanish or any additional language is an advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure, with discretion and a client-first attitude
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks

What We Offer

  • A competitive compensation package including base salary + attractive commissions based on performance
  • A key role within a globally recognized aviation group
  • Access to Luxaviation’s worldwide fleet and resources to support your success
  • A dynamic and supportive team with international reach
