Job description

Payroll Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Payroll Accountant, for a local non-profit, in Richmond, VA, for a contract opportunity with potential to become permanent. This role is 100% in office and supports the full payroll process for over 250 employees.
Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now
• Review timesheets for accuracy and ensure payroll data is complete and timely
• Handle payroll deductions, garnishments, tax reports, and voluntary deduction reporting
• Prepare payroll-related accounting transactions, reconciliations, and reports
• Maintain payroll records and support audit schedules as needed
• Work closely with the finance and human resource teams
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 3-5 years of payroll and accounting experience
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
• Strong reconciliation, general ledger, and Excel skills
• Knowledge of payroll regulations and nonprofit accounting preferred
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
