Caprock Academy is seeking an educational assistant for the 2026-2027 school year.. Caprock Academy is a public, tuition-free school chartered by the Colorado Charter School Institute and utilizes the timeless principles of classically oriented education. 


Caprock Academy follows the Core Knowledge curriculum in grades K-8. This curriculum encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education. The curriculum is characterized by content-rich instruction, cumulative knowledge, content-specific lessons, and coherent sequencing. The foundation of our academics are rooted in classical education philosophy and pedagogy, following the grammar, logic and rhetoric trivium. The school's mission is to help all students achieve their highest academic and character potential using proven, accelerated academic programs while providing a safe environment. Educational assistants are classroom professionals that play an important role at Caprock Academy, supporting and supplementing delivery of the educational program in classrooms. Successful applicants will work closely with other classroom instructors to effectively integrate subjects and methods with the teachers' overall instructional plans. 



FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, non-exempt

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, full-time

WORK HOURS: 32 hours per week

PAY RANGE: $15.91 hourly

REPORTS TO: Classroom Teacher(s)





Essential Duties:

  • Help faculty to supervise students.
  • Take part of a rotating schedule for playground duty before school, at recess, at lunch and after school.
  • Aid teachers in drop off and pick up duty before and/or after school.
  • Facilitate the Pledge of Allegiance with students.
  • Take attendance.
  • File and organize papers and take-home folders at the end of days needed.
  • Gather homework for students who are absent.
  • Assist the faculty in teaching students (ie. helping in P.E., ability groups, small groups, goal hour, etc).
  • Aid teachers in escorting students to specials classes.
  • Pick up mail from mailboxes in the office.
  • Help teachers maintain accurate records (ei. Hot lunch orders, field trips, etc).
  • Grade students work and record in the student information system as needed.
  • Escort students to the office as needed.
  • Check planners, reading logs and any parent signatures for completion and record them.
  • Help keep the classroom clean and tidy.
  • Support classroom teachers Implement student plans with fidelity (IEP, 504, ALP, safety, etc).
  • Enforce school policies (ie. dress code, technology usage, etc).
  • Create documents as needed using various computer programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Apply feedback from your supervisor.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant state, federal, and local laws, and regulations (including Colorado Charter School Institute)
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with teachers, other faculty, students, and parents.
  • Collaborate with classroom teacher to create and manage your schedule.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma. Associate or bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Experience working with students, preferred.
  • Desire and willingness to promote the mission and values of the school.
  • Demonstrated effective classroom-management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with peers and team members.
  • Professional and personal integrity and judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding and willing to learn (reading, writing, and math curriculum at grade level)
