Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | Inventory Cycle Counter | Manufacturing | Sycamore, IL area

A leading manufacturer in the Sycamore, IL area is hiring a full-time Inventory Cycle Counter to keep plant inventory accurate and audit-ready. You will count material on the floor, reconcile what the system says against what is physically there, and clear discrepancies before they reach production or shipping. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable moving through a working plant, using measuring tools, and keeping clean records in an ERP. Strong performers here become the person the floor trusts when the numbers have to be right.

  • $19.00/hour
  • Full suite of benefits: Health/Dental/Vision, 401(k), PTO/Vacation/Holiday
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (some flexibility as needed)
  • 40 hours/week; some Saturdays (overtime) available as needed

Overview

  • Count inventory accurately on a recurring cycle so on-hand numbers match reality.
  • Enter counts and adjustments cleanly into the ERP (D365) with no rework.
  • Find the source of count discrepancies and resolve them before they disrupt production or shipping.
  • Use calipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment to verify and identify material.
  • Move safely through an active manufacturing floor; lift and handle material up to 25 lbs.
  • Partner with materials, production, and shipping to keep records trustworthy.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years in an inventory control, cycle counting, or stockroom role — preferred.
  • Comfortable in Excel and Word; able to learn and work inside an MRP/ERP system.
  • D365 or comparable ERP experience — strongly preferred.
  • Solid basic math and a logical, problem-solving approach to reconciling counts.
  • Reads, writes, and communicates clearly in English with all levels of the plant.
  • Comfortable working on a manufacturing floor with normal noise, dust, and physical demands.
