Job description

Cybersecurity Engineer

The Opportunity:

Everyone knows security needs to be "baked in" to a system architecture and you actually know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface. What if you could use your cyber engineering skills to design and develop secure systems for defense clients? We're looking for an engineer who can create solutions for defense clients that will withstand even the most advanced cyber threats.

As a cybersecurity engineer at Booz Allen, you'll coordinate work with multiple government groups, contractor partners, and program office representatives to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your client's IT needs and future goals into a plan that enables secure and effective solutions. We need to come up with the best solutions, so you'll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You'll lead the team through a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives, and customizing solutions, to maintain a balance of security and mission needs.

This is a chance to make a difference in the security of defense critical assets. Your technical expertise will be vital as you help customers overcome their most difficult challenges.

Work with us as we protect and advance our defense clients' mission needs.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations and solution implementation

  • Ability to work with development teams to select the most appropriate controls

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAM II or higher Certification such as SecurityX, CISM, or CISSP Certification within 6 months of start date

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience developing SSP or ATO packages for systems deployed in a Microsoft Azure DoD Cloud environment

  • Secret clearance

  • Master's degree in a CS, Cybersecurity, or technical field preferred; Doctorate degree in a CS, Cybersecurity, or technical field a plus

  • Amazon Web Service (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Service Provider Certification

  • DoD Directive 8570.01-M for IASAE Level 3 Certification such as CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, or CCSP Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
