Job description

Non-Bargaining Position 


Compensation: Commensurate with education and experience; 248-Day Contract

Reports To: Technology Supervisor and Director of Pupil & Staff Services

Position Summary:

The District Technology Operations Coordinator supports the daily operation, maintenance, security, and continued development of technology systems throughout Austintown Local Schools. The coordinator works closely with the Technology Supervisor to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology services for students, instructional staff, administrators, and support personnel.

The coordinator provides advanced technical support, assists with the administration of district networks, devices, applications, user accounts, and security systems, and helps coordinate technology projects, work orders, equipment deployments, inventory, and vendor services.

The District Technology Operations Coordinator serves as a key member of the Technology Department and will gradually assume increased responsibility for district technology operations, planning, project management, and department leadership. The position is intended to support continuity of operations and the development of future leadership capacity within the Technology Department.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in information technology, computer science, networking, cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, educational technology, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible technology experience.
  • Previous technology experience in a public school district, educational organization, governmental agency, or other multi-site organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, wireless systems, cloud-based applications, and user-account administration.
  • Experience supporting Google Workspace for Education, Google Admin Console, Chrome OS devices, or comparable enterprise systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, access controls, system backups, endpoint protection, and incident-response procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, customer-service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel among district facilities.
  • Successful State and Federal criminal background checks.

Evaluations:

Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy and district evaluation procedures.

The successful candidate must have the following on file before starting:

  2. Official Sealed Transcripts
  3. Current favorable State and Federal background checks
  4. Negative drug screen
  5. Ohio Auditor of State Fraud Reporting and Training


Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
