Job description

Salary: upon completion of Internship

Houston Strong Children Services is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy IT Intern to assist with supporting the organizations technology operations, digital systems, and staff technology needs. This internship provides hands-on experience for students interested in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Media, or related fields while contributing to programs that positively impact children, youth, and families.

The IT Intern will gain real-world experience in troubleshooting, technical support, system maintenance, and nonprofit technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide basic technical support for staff computers, printers, tablets, and software.
  • Assist with setting up laptops, email accounts, and user access for staff and interns.
  • Support website updates, digital platforms, and online systems.
  • Help maintain technology inventory and equipment organization.
  • Assist with troubleshooting internet, networking, and hardware issues.
  • Support technology setup for meetings, trainings, workshops, and community events.
  • Assist with cybersecurity best practices and data organization.
  • Provide support for social media technology, livestreaming, and digital presentations.
  • Help maintain files, databases, and cloud-based systems.
  • Collaborate with leadership on innovative technology ideas and solutions.

Qualifications

  • Current college student or recent graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Technology, or related field preferred.
