Job Title: Clinical Research Coordinator

Job Description

The Research Coordinator supports the successful implementation of clinical research studies by assisting investigators, research associates, and project managers with day-to-day study operations. This role focuses on participant recruitment and consent, data collection and management, and administrative support to ensure accurate reporting of study results and compliance with research protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and consent research participants in accordance with study protocols and ethical guidelines.
  • Conduct telephone and in-person interviews with participants, including screening for eligibility and documenting responses accurately.
  • Perform follow-up with study participants by telephone, email, and mail to ensure completion of study activities and retention in the research trial.
  • Prepare, mail, and process questionnaires and other study-related correspondence in a timely and organized manner.
  • Assist in tracking study participants using MS Excel or similar tools to maintain up-to-date records of study status and visits.
  • Keep accurate, detailed, and well-organized records and files of all work performed, including participant data and study documentation.
  • Review, edit, clean, and enter participant data into electronic databases to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Assist with literature reviews to support proposal submissions and manuscript preparation for publication or presentation.
  • Perform basic bookkeeping tasks related to study budgets, including ordering supplies and requesting checks for payments and participant incentives.
  • Complete miscellaneous administrative tasks such as typing labels, copying, faxing, preparing meeting materials, taking notes, and transcribing audio files as needed.
  • Conduct chart reviews and patient recruitment activities within clinical or healthcare settings.
  • Utilize electronic data capture (EDC) and electronic medical records (EMR) systems to support clinical research data collection.
  • Apply Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles in daily work to support regulatory compliance and high-quality clinical research.
  • Support clinical research trials by coordinating operational tasks and collaborating with clinical and research staff.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • At least 6 months of clinical research experience.
  • Background in the medical field, including familiarity with phlebotomy.
  • Experience with chart review and patient recruitment in a clinical or research setting.
  • Ability to use electronic data capture (EDC) systems and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards in clinical research.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel for tracking study participants and managing data.
  • Ability to conduct telephone and in-person interviews professionally and empathetically.
  • Organizational skills to maintain accurate records, files, and documentation.
  • Capability to manage follow-up communications with participants via phone, email, and mail.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
