Job description

Title: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Department: Engineering
Reports to: President and CEO
Position Type: Regular/Full-Time/On-Site/Exempt
Location: San Jose, CA
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for directing all technical aspects at Eugenus, Inc. with deep focus on process technology applications with a specific focus on ALD deposition techniques.
The CTO works with Executive Management to grow the company using technological resources. Using an active and practical approach, the CTO will direct all employees globally to attain the company's strategic goals established in the company's strategic plan aligned with and in partnership with our parent company Eugene Technology in Korea.
Responsibilities/Duties
THIS IS A VERY OPERATIONAL POSITION
Establish and execute the company's technical vision and lead all aspects of the company's technological development with deep focus in process technology applications in areas of thin film deposition technologies (ALD, CVD, LPCVD, PECVD, etc.). Manage engineering organization (hardware, software, process development, simulations and support) to ensure company's technical goals are met.
Actively interact with our customers on strategic engagements, our parent company Eugene Technology, and it's material's subsidiary EGTM
Directs ALD/CVD strategic direction, development and future growth.
Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as sales and marketing, to grow the business.
Provide leadership to department heads in a fashion that supports Eugenus' culture, mission and values.
Conducts research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations on the probability of implementation at Eugenus and for our customers.
Acts as a good steward of Eugneus resources and ensures control of technology departmental budgets.
Education and Experience
Ph.D. in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics and at least 15+ years of semiconductor process equipment experience. At least 10 years' management and strategic experience in this field.
    • Specific experience taking an ALD or CVD product to market in logic or memory applications.
    • Deep understanding product development and design
    • Direct experience with major customers such as Samsung, Micron, Intel, TSMC, etc.
    • Expertise in Semiconductor device processing technologies and integration
    • Key pillar of the executive leadership team.
    • Understand process technology applications in areas of thin film deposition (ALD, CVD, LPCVD, PECVD, etc.)

Abilities
Hands on with Technology a must and be willing to roll-up the selves and get things done
Build, Learn and Troubleshoot solutions hands on with the team
Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff
Ability to think and act strategically and proactively.
Strong writing and presentation skills
Ability to look at industry roadmaps, particularly from the customer perspective and understanding device trends and how that influences process requirements.
