Graphic Designer, Contract to Hire

Hakes Brothers is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to support our growing marketing team on a contract basis, with the potential to transition into a full-time role as a member of the Hakes Brothers team.

This role is ideal for a creative professional who can bring strong visual design skills, marketing awareness, and content execution together in a way that supports a premium homebuilding brand while remaining approachable, polished, and results-driven. The right candidate will be able to create compelling visual assets across digital, print, email, social media, presentations, and sales support materials, while helping maintain brand consistency across markets.

Position Overview The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing high quality creative assets that support marketing campaigns, community promotion, brand storytelling, and internal communications. This individual should be comfortable working across a variety of formats, balancing design excellence with deadlines, business goals, and audience needs.

This role requires both creative execution and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate understands how strong design supports lead generation, brand perception, customer engagement, and the overall homebuyer journey.

Key Responsibilities

· Design a wide range of marketing materials for digital and print use, including social media graphics, flyers, brochures, signage, presentations, email graphics, landing page visuals, and other branded collateral

· Support social media management through graphic creation, light content planning, post formatting, and creative execution aligned with brand standards and campaign goals

· Assist with creative writing needs related to marketing assets, including headlines, captions, supporting copy, and messaging that reflects the Hakes Brothers voice and positioning

· Create and edit branded email designs within the HubSpot Marketing Suite or similar platforms

· Design professional, polished presentations for internal meetings, leadership updates, sales support, and external audiences

· Develop visual assets for website and landing page updates, with awareness of digital best practices and conversion-focused design

· Edit short-form video content for marketing campaigns, social media, brand storytelling, and promotional use

· Maintain brand consistency across all materials, ensuring design work reflects Hakes Brothers standards, tone, and visual identity

· Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and other internal stakeholders to execute projects that support company priorities and community-level needs

· Manage multiple projects at once while staying organized, meeting deadlines, and maintaining quality across deliverables

· Prepare production-ready files for vendors, printers, digital publishing, and internal use

· Organize source files, creative libraries, templates, and version control for ongoing efficiency and team collaboration

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Three to five years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in homebuilding, real estate, lifestyle, hospitality, or another brand-driven industry. Experience should include digital and print design, social media creative, email design, presentation design, and light video editing.

· Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or marketing preferred but not required if portfolio and experience are in-line with our needs.

· Proven experience in graphic design, preferably in real estate, homebuilding, lifestyle, retail, hospitality, or another brand-driven industry

· Strong portfolio demonstrating high quality work across digital, print, social media, presentations, and marketing campaigns

· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign

· Proficiency in Canva for efficient brand-compliant design creation and template management

· Experience with video editing tools and short-form content production

· Experience with HubSpot Marketing Suite, especially email design and marketing asset creation

· Experience in website and landing page design

· Strong presentation design skills, with the ability to organize information clearly and visually

· Understanding of social media creative best practices across major platforms

· Strong written communication and creative writing skills for marketing-focused messaging

· Ability to work within established brand guidelines while also bringing fresh, thoughtful creative ideas

· Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

· Ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
