What is a Part Time Brand Designer?

A Part Time Brand Designer is a creative professional who works on designing and maintaining the visual identity of a brand but does so on a part-time schedule. Their responsibilities typically include creating logos, choosing color palettes, designing marketing materials, and ensuring that all brand visuals are consistent across platforms. Working part time allows for flexibility, making this role ideal for freelancers, students, or those seeking work-life balance. Part Time Brand Designers often collaborate closely with marketing teams and clients to develop visually compelling designs that effectively communicate the brand's message.

While both roles involve design skills, a Part Time Brand Designer focuses on developing and maintaining a company's brand identity and strategy, whereas a Part Time Graphic Designer primarily creates visual content and graphics. Understanding these differences helps employers and job seekers target the right skills and responsibilities for each position.

How does a part-time brand designer typically collaborate with other teams or stakeholders?

As a part-time brand designer, you'll often work closely with marketing, product, and sometimes sales teams to ensure visual consistency across all brand touchpoints. Communication is key—regular check-ins, shared project management tools, and clear documentation help align your design work with the broader goals of the company. You'll typically participate in brainstorming sessions, provide design feedback, and present your concepts to stakeholders for input and approval. Flexibility and proactive communication are essential to stay in sync, given the reduced hours and potential for remote collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Brand Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Brand Designer, you need strong graphic design skills, a solid understanding of branding principles, and proficiency in design software, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio of work. Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and brand management platforms is typically required. Excellent communication, creativity, and time management help designers effectively interpret client needs and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines. These skills are essential for creating consistent, impactful brand identities that support business goals and client satisfaction.

Job description

About the Team
At AudioEye, we believe access to digital content is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Our mission is clear: eliminate every barrier to digital accessibility so that everyone, regardless of ability, can experience the web without limitations.
We are a team of passionate problem-solvers who are driven by purpose and impact. Every challenge we tackle moves us closer to a future where creating accessible experiences is the standard. If you're looking for meaningful work where you can drive real change, influence how people with disabilities experience the internet, and be part of a mission that matters, AudioEye is the place for you.
About the Role
We're looking for a freelance Brand Designer to join our small, in-house creative team on a part-time, contract basis. The work spans ad creative, blog assets, editorial layout, simple motion design, and lightweight video editing, so we're looking for someone with real range and a point of view. This is a great fit for a designer who leads with craft, has strong opinions about type, and gets excited by translating dense, technical subject matter into something people actually want to look at. You test design concepts quickly, communicate clearly, and can manage your own projects.
How you'll Contribute:
  • Ad creative and blog assets that translate complex topics (accessibility law, compliance standards, technical concepts) into work that's considered, visual, and well-crafted.
  • Layout and editorial design for guides, reports, and collateral with a strong eye for typography, hierarchy, spacing, and grid systems.
  • Motion design and video editing that brings static assets and product spotlights to life.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with brand, content, product, and digital marketing teams.

Who you are:
  • 3 - 5 years of design experience with a portfolio showing illustration, editorial design, and conceptual range.
  • Figma fluency, and a habit of pulling references, building moodboards, and designing inside a layered brand system.
  • Familiarity with AI and generative image tools. We won't lean on them heavily, but you should feel comfortable prompting and iterating as needed.
  • Self-directed, communicative in writing, and able to overlap with US Pacific timezone morning meetings at least twice a week.
  • Able to execute motion design and video editing independently in After Effects and Premiere Pro (or equivalents). You don't need to be a motion specialist, but you should be comfortable with LottieFiles and basic timeline work.
  • Bonus points for accessibility awareness such as WCAG color contrast and inclusive design principles.

Our Values:
  • Relentlessly Prioritize the Customer
  • Own Outcomes
  • Be Straightforward
  • Act Now & Iterate
  • Grit
  • Decide with Data
  • Hire and Develop A Players
  • Be Coachable
  • Organize and Plan
  • Expect and Embrace Change
