Job description

Our Wrightstown, WI production site is seeking a dynamic Continuous Improvement Manager. We are in need of an operational investigator to collaborate with SMEs in a manufacturing facility, analyze and identify areas for improvement and charter projects to improve manufacturing processes.  This role may require occasional travel to other locations based on business needs.

What you will do

  • Uphold a genuine regard for safety, ensuring employees understand and follow safety guidelines and recognizing individuals for their involvement
  • Drive continuous improvement by spending time on the floor talking with operators, completing time studies, verifying/validating SOPs, etc.
  • Lead projects by gathering information from hourly employees, creating tangible goals and deadlines, and reporting improvements to all employees
  • Align with Department Managers on priority of projects and provides updates
  • Audit quality, safety, and environmental housekeeping procedures
  • Flexible to support a 24/7 operation
  • Be highly organized and self-directed with an ability to prioritize projects, combined with the ability to provide and receive direction.
  • Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly absorb new procedures and new industry advancements.

    Education / professional background

    • Four-year technical/Bachelor’s degree or Continuous Improvement Practitioner training with relevant work experience applying continuous improvement methodologies in manufacturing required
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, to work with manufacturing operations personnel throughout the levels of the organization
    • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • General knowledge of manufacturing, including the desired properties and quality standards for products
    • Must have strong time management skills to handle multiple ongoing projects in addition to day-to-day process problems
    • Overcome obstacles and setbacks and react with positivity and optimism in the face of unforeseen challenges
    • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Share Point, and the ability to quickly learn software needed to perform job specific duties.
    • Flexible Packaging Industry experience  (Flexo printing, extrusion lamination, and/or converting) is a plus, but not required.
    • Lean/Six Sigma Certification is preferred
