Content Marketing Manager

Strategic Communications and Storytelling

At Father Joe's Villages, every story has the power to inspire action, build understanding, and transform lives. As one of the largest providers of services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Southern California, we help thousands of people each year through housing, healthcare, employment, behavioral health, and supportive services. The Content Marketing Manager helps advance our mission to prevent and end homelessness, one life at a time, through compelling content that engages donors, volunteers, community partners, and the public.

The Role

The Content Marketing Manager develops and delivers written, visual, and video content that supports communications, community engagement efforts, and fundraising. Working collaboratively across the organization, this role identifies meaningful stories, elevates awareness of our mission and impact, and helps maintain a consistent and engaging brand voice.

The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic communicator with strong storytelling skills, multimedia content experience, and a commitment to ethical, dignity-centered representation of the individuals and families we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute content strategies that support communications, community engagement, and fundraising goals.
  • Create written content for campaigns, donor communications, websites, advertisements, newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
  • Identify and develop stories that highlight organizational impact, programs, services, and community partnerships.
  • Produce and manage multimedia content, including video, photography, and graphic assets.
  • Manage content calendars, workflows, and multiple projects to ensure timely delivery of communications materials.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify content opportunities and support organizational priorities.
  • Maintain brand consistency across platforms and communication channels.
  • Monitor communications trends and recommend innovative approaches to strengthen audience engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in content creation, communications, marketing, storytelling, ora related field.
  • Demonstrated experience producing content across multiple formats, including written, visual, and video communications.
  • Experience leading projects, campaigns, programs, or teams with increasing levels of responsibility

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Demonstrated success creating engaging written, visual, and video content.
  • Experience translating organizational impact and complex information into compelling audience-centered communications.
  • Knowledge of digital communications platforms, including websites, email marketing, and social media.
  • Proficiency with content creation and design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar applications.
  • Experience with video production, photography, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Strong project management, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to ethical storytelling practices, including dignity-centered representation, informed consent, and confidentiality.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, scheduled for 40 hours per week. Standard work hours are generally Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or weekend hours to support organizational events, content development, or special projects.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $73,549 to $91,915 per year.
