We are looking to hire a Procurement Manager to be part of our Procurement Team in Madrid.

You will be responsible for procurement and contract management activities within the South West Europe, focusing in the Iberia region.

Your main responsibilities

The person will be responsible for driving key procurement projects forward. Being an integral part of the team, these are your main activities, to deliver on Maersk's ambitious goals:

  • Procurement projects' management, as per the Six Sourcing Steps within a focus on outsourced logistics (trucking, & rail).
  • Creating and implementing the Category & Strategies for the area.
  • Supplier Relationship Management with supply chain vendors.
  • Cooperating closely with Product teams to support the ambitious growth plans.
  • Strategic Procurement activities within the region. Providing local solutions by applying local knowledge.
  • Participating in cross functional projects
  • Performing supplier market analysis and organizing market intelligence for suppliers in scope, and benchmark Maersk Business costs with competition.
  • Facilitating root cause analysis for non-performing contracts
  • Implementing standard processes with key stakeholders, understanding the business needs and boundaries.
  • Leading/participating in Annual Priority, Joint Cost Plan initiatives and other cross functional projects.

We appreciate:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Procurement, within the logistics sector, ideally Logistics and inland transportation (Truck & Rail).
  • A Degree in a Industrial Engineering, Business/Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Strong market and industry knowledge.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to reduce cost and optimize vendors' performance - working within a total value mindset.
  • Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders efficiently.
  • A high amount of drive and energy.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. (Portuguese or French is a plus).
