Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL
Company: Amnex Solutions Corp
Division: Drayage & Intermodal Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time
About Amnex Solutions

Amnex Solutions Corp is a performance-driven freight brokerage specializing in drayage, intermodal, and OTR logistics across the U.S. Our team partners with ports, rail terminals, and domestic shippers to deliver fast, compliant, and transparent containerized freight solutions. We combine real-world operational expertise with innovative technology to improve efficiency, communication, and visibility for our customers and carriers. By joining us, you will join a team of professionals that has a track record of huge success in transportation over the last 16 years.
Position Summary

The Drayage Account Manager is responsible for overseeing daily drayage operations while maintaining strong customer and carrier relationships. This is a hands-on operational and relationship management role, ideal for candidates who understand port and rail operations and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
You will manage import/export container moves, track shipments through terminals, resolve exceptions, and ensure every load meets service standards and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities

Account & Operations Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned drayage customers.
  • Receive and confirm container requests, coordinate dispatch, and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Monitor terminals, appointment windows, demurrage, and per diem timelines to prevent accessorials.
  • Create and manage shipments within the TMS (Turvo or similar), ensuring accurate data and documentation.
  • Handle accessorial billing, proof-of-delivery (POD) collection, and rate confirmations.
Customer Communication

  • Provide daily shipment updates, proactively communicate exceptions, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Develop trusted relationships with customers, offering consistent follow-up and transparent reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer accounts through improved service and additional lane coverage.
Carrier Management

  • Source and maintain reliable carrier relationships specializing in drayage and intermodal. We will help with the sourcing or covering in most/all cases.
  • Ensure carriers meet Amnex compliance standards (insurance, safety, RMIS onboarding, etc.).
  • Negotiate rates that balance service quality and margin protection.
Collaboration & Growth

  • Work closely with internal sales, dispatch, and leadership teams to improve operations.
  • Contribute insights on port congestion, chassis availability, fuel impacts, and rate trends.
  • Support new account onboarding and SOP documentation.
Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in drayage, intermodal, or container logistics.
  • Strong understanding of port/rail operations, steamship line systems, and terminal processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with TMS platforms (Turvo preferred) and carrier vetting tools (RMIS, Carrier411, SaferWatch).
  • Self-starter mindset with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses.
  • Growth path into Senior Account Manager or Drayage Operations Lead.
  • Supportive culture focused on innovation, teamwork, and accountability.
