Job description

Market & Consumer Insights Manager, Consumer Health

Number of Openings: 1

Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Level

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: City of Industry, California

Workplace Type: On-site

About the Role

We are seeking a Market & Consumer Insights Manager to support strategic decision-making for our U.S. consumer health and dietary supplements business.

This is not a basic survey or report-writing role. This role is responsible for connecting macro market research, competitive intelligence, consumer insights, and product opportunity analysis into actionable recommendations for product, go-to-market, and leadership teams.

Your work will directly influence product selection, category strategy, GTM direction, and the companyโ€™s broader U.S. market expansion decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct systematic research on the U.S. consumer health, dietary supplements, and wellness markets, including market size, growth trends, category structure, channel landscape, consumer behavior, and relevant regulatory or policy developments.
  • Track macro consumer trends, such as the rise of functional foods, ingredient awareness, channel shifts, wellness behavior changes, and emerging health needs.
  • Prepare regular market research reports and strategic insight briefings for product teams and company leadership.
  • Conduct in-depth research on leading and emerging brands in the U.S. market, including brand positioning, product strategy, pricing system, channel path, content strategy, and growth trajectory.
  • Build and maintain a competitive intelligence tracking system to continuously monitor market movement, competitor updates, and differentiation opportunities.
  • Prepare competitive analysis reports with clear conclusions and strategic implications, not just information summaries.
  • Partner with Product Managers to conduct consumer insight research, including purchase decision journeys, usage scenarios, pain points, unmet needs, and consumer language.
  • Translate consumer feedback, reviews, social listening signals, and research findings into product definition inputs.
  • Clearly distinguish facts, interpretations, assumptions, and conclusions in research outputs.
  • Identify actionable product opportunities by integrating market trends, competitor movements, consumer insights, and category gaps.
  • Prepare category opportunity reports that define market potential, target consumers, differentiation direction, competitive barriers, and key risks.
  • Build an industry intelligence system for the U.S. market, including regulatory updates, platform policy changes, channel trends, consumer signals, and emerging category opportunities.
  • Integrate multiple data sources, including third-party reports, e-commerce data, social media data, industry publications, consumer reviews, and professional research databases.
  • Present research findings regularly to product, GTM, and leadership teams, and ensure insights are translated into actual business decisions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights, industry research, market strategy, strategy consulting, consumer strategy, or related roles.
  • Experience conducting market, consumer, or category research in consumer goods, health and wellness, dietary supplements, functional foods, retail, e-commerce, consulting, or investment research environments.
  • Ability to independently manage the full research process, including problem definition, research design, data collection, analysis, conclusion development, and presentation.
  • Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to clearly separate facts, interpretations, assumptions, and conclusions.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to answer โ€œwhat this meansโ€ and โ€œwhat we should do next,โ€ rather than only summarizing information.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce structured, high-density, decision-oriented research reports.
  • Ability to read and analyze English-language primary sources, including market reports, industry publications, regulatory materials, platform policies, consumer reviews, and company materials.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or above; marketing, business, sociology, statistics, economics, psychology, or related fields preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer health, dietary supplements, wellness, functional foods, food and beverage, beauty, personal care, or related CPG categories.
  • Experience in corporate strategy, consumer insights, market research, consulting, or investment research.
  • Experience researching the U.S. consumer market through first-hand consumer research, interviews, surveys, focus groups, social listening, marketplace data, or field research.
  • Experience using professional databases or research tools such as Euromonitor, Mintel, Statista, NielsenIQ, SPINS, Circana, Similarweb, Jungle Scout, Helium 10, or social listening tools.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, GTM, strategy, marketing, or leadership teams.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $135,000 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based monthly bonus, depending on experience, qualifications, performance, and business needs.

Benefits

Health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, paid holidays, employee discounts, and other applicable benefits.
