Job description

Job Description: Dynamo Technologies LLC is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to support the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The selected candidate will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that transform enterprise data into meaningful insights for stakeholders across the organization. This role will focus on developing interactive dashboards, reports, and low-code applications using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power BI Service, and Power Apps. The ideal candidate will have experience with data modeling, SQL, ETL processes, and data visualization while supporting users through troubleshooting, training, and continuous enhancement of reporting solutions. Duties/ Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and related Power Platform tools.
Develop and maintain Canvas and Model-Driven applications using Microsoft Power Apps.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues related to business intelligence solutions, data sources, reporting content, user access, and application performance.
Develop and maintain data models that support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
Extract, transform, cleanse, and prepare data using ETL tools, scripting languages (Python, R, or similar), and other data preparation technologies.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries against enterprise databases such as PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
Develop automated reporting workflows and integrations utilizing Power BI REST APIs and Microsoft Power Platform capabilities where appropriate.
Support users by providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and documentation for business intelligence solutions.
Deliver end-user training on Microsoft Power Platform applications, including Power BI and Power Apps, in both one-on-one and classroom settings.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into scalable reporting solutions.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Maintain documentation for data models, reporting solutions, and development standards.
Required Skills/Abilities: Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing:
Data models, dashboards, and interactive visualizations using Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and related tools)
Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps using Microsoft Power Apps
Data transformation, analytics, or ETL solutions utilizing scripting languages such as Python or R
Minimum of one (1) year of experience developing:
Complex SQL queries against enterprise databases such as PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server
User interface components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar front-end technologies (preferred but not a primary focus)
Strong understanding of data modeling principles and relational databases.
Experience troubleshooting and supporting business intelligence applications.
Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience providing end-user training and documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience developing workflows using Power Automate (cloud flows).
Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse.
Experience using Power BI REST APIs.
Experience developing solutions using Power Virtual Agents (Power Virtual Data Agents).
Experience working in Linux environments.
Experience deploying or supporting Azure or AWS cloud services.
Experience developing embedded analytics solutions.
Experience with additional ETL or data integration tools.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience developing business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. Must be able to successfully complete and maintain the background investigation required to obtain and retain access to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) systems and facilities. Salary Requirement: The salary range for this position represents Dynamo's good-faith estimate of the compensation expected to be offered at the time of posting.
