Job description

This position located in the SACRAMENTO FIELD OFFICE
Under the general direction of the Division of Investigation (DOI), Investigation and Enforcement Unit (IEU) Deputy Chief, the Special Operations Unit (SOU) Supervising Investigator II (Commander) oversees the Backgrounds, Internal Affairs (including the Computer Forensics Team), Enforcement Support, and Specialized Investigation and Training Units. The Supervising Investigator II performs the full range of peace officer duties, as specified in section 830.3 of the Penal Code and acts at all times with courtesy and professionalism.
The Supervising Investigator II must perform the full range of peace officer duties and responsibilities in the accomplishment of their assignments. In addition, the Supervising Investigator II must qualify and carry a firearm, have a valid California Drivers License and be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Working Conditions

The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) protects and serves California consumers while ensuring a competent and fair marketplace. DCA educates consumers and protects professionals from unfair competition by unlicensed practitioners.
DCA is a unique and dynamic department consisting of 36 different boards, bureaus, a commission, and a program that license and regulate more than 3.4 million licensees in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits.
