Job description

Project Accountant

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

CORE Construction is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. This is a full-time, in-person position that plays a critical role in supporting our construction operations by partnering closely with Project Managers to ensure the accurate processing of project billings, subcontractor payments, job cost reporting, and financial documentation.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment. If you have a strong accounting background, excellent communication skills, and enjoy collaborating with project teams to drive successful outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly subcontractor billing process through Textura, including compliance tracking and payment authorization for subcontractors and lower-tier vendors.
  • Process and post billings and payments into the company's ERP system.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations between Textura and the ERP system to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist with the preparation and posting of monthly construction project invoices.
  • Support project financial audits before, during, and after project completion.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and vendors regarding invoice and payment status.
  • Assist with job cost reporting and financial record maintenance.
  • Perform a variety of general accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of accounting experience with a focus on invoicing and accounts payable.
  • Previous experience in construction accounting strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Vista Accounting Software, Procore, and Textura Payment Management is preferred.
  • Experience with lien waiver collection and review is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional internal customer service.
