Job description

We are seeking a current Construction Management student for a paid summer internship for our real estate development company at our headquarters in Spokane. As a Construction Management Intern, you will assist our team of Project Managers in organizing, controlling and monitoring all activities associated with building construction projects and must work well in a team environment. Must be flexible minded, have attention to detail, initiative, and the drive to succeed in the performance of your duties. This internship will run through the summer of 2026, with the possibility to extend.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and knowledge of the full scope of new construction and property improvement projects
  • Communicate with project managers regarding any issues or concerns with contractors and assigned tasks
  • Support project management in preparing for meetings with senior management/contractors/architects/tenants, etc.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, change orders, billings and prepare reports
  • Collaborate with project management to plan and develop project schedules
  • Deliver construction project team progress and deadline updates
  • Familiarity with, production tracking, quality control, punch list and project close out procedures
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read blueprints, construction documents, analyze and interpret building codes
  • Ability to coordinate with municipalities, suppliers, contractors, customers and internal team members to discuss and document requirements/changes. Address concerns and provide timely project updates
  • Ability to motivate suppliers and trade partners to deliver and produce quality work within tight timeframes while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to Inspect work in progress along with completed work. Compose inspection reports.
  • Work under pressure and coordinate numerous concurrent activities
  • Ability to travel with Valid Driverโ€™s License
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Full-time availability during summer break
  • Valid driver's license
