The Assistant Project Manager - Interior Design supports the planning, design coordination, execution, and closeout of high-rise residential projects, with a primary focus on interior design implementation. This role ensures design intent is executed accurately and aligned with budget, schedule, and company standards.

What Will You Do?

  • Assist in initiation, planning, execution, and closeout of high-rise residential projects.
  • Coordinate designers, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain interior project schedules and monitor critical path items.
  • Assist with budgeting, cost estimating, and value engineering for interior scopes.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractor invoices.
  • Lead finish palettes, material selections, and FF&E specifications.
  • Review reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, elevations, and interior details.
  • Oversee FF&E procurement and installation.
  • Conduct field verifications and maintain punch lists.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA and building codes.
  • Support quality control and resolve field design issues.
  • Participate in post-project reviews.

Interior Design & Technical Oversight

  • Lead and coordinate finish palettes, materials selections, and FFE&F specification for residential units amenities, and common areas
  • Review and manager construction drawings including reflected ceilings plans, lighting plans, electrical plans, and interior elevations.
  • Ensure interior design documentation aligns with architectural drawings and construction requirements.
  • Oversee procurement, bidding, and installation of FF&E packages
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design intent
  • Conduct field verifications to ensure finishes and installations meet design specifications
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, ADA requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Stay current with residential market trends, materials, and high-rise design standards

Pre-Construction & Budget Management

  • Assist with quantity take-offs and bid packages for interior scopes
  • Perform cost analysis of material selections and recommend value-engineering solutions
  • Maintain project cost databases and track interior budget performance
  • Prequalify vendors and subcontractors for finish trades
  • Draft and administer subcontracts related to interior scopes

Field Engineering & Quality Control

  • Support overall quality control for interior finishes and detailing
  • Conduct site walks to verify installations align with drawings and specifications

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of Project Engineer experience
  • Experience in ground up high rise construction.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, detailing, and building codes
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Windows
  • Ability to guide, direct, and coordinate a department with five or more employees
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively run a department in an efficient manner
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret prints, architectural drawings, financial and job cost reports
  • Excellent knowledge of the industry and trends impacting the business
  • Excellent customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Develop and maintain punch lists for residential units and amenity spaces
  • Assist in preparing project-specific safety plans and conducting site safety reviews
  • Troubleshoot field conditions and coordinate design solutions with consultants

Salary Range:

$120,000-$140,000
