As a Sample Receiving Group Leader in our Richmond, VA lab. As a key member of the laboratory team, Group Leaders equip and maintain a well-trained and informed staff to meet the expectations of our clients by efficiently and profitably processing samples on time. Our Group Leaders will be responsible for most aspects of an operating team within the lab.

The compensation range for this role is $53,000 to $62,000, in addition to an annual bonus,commensuratewith experience, skills, and geographic location.To thrive in this role,you'llbe comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Enthalpy's SOPs
  • Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
  • Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
  • Assists in sample bottle preparation and sample management/archiving and disposal
  • Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
  • Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program
  • Personnel supervision, time management, and operational efficiency
  • Conflict resolution and personnel skills development, team building and conflict resolution
  • Accurate and timely communication with internal staff and management.
  • Project scheduling, focus on rushes and short hold samples
  • Write and assist with updating related SOPs
  • Ensure staff comply with Onterris Health and Safety Plan, in particular a willingness to work with concentrated acids as well as instructing staff on proper handling and safety procedures for those acids
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3-4 years laboratory experience or experience in commercial production laboratory
  • Group Leaders must be well versed in most of the methods run within their department
  • They must have shown the ability to organize, communicate, and facilitate priorities to staff in an effective manner
  • They must be able to handle non-routine samples and be capable of managing an effective workflow in their department (this includes managing man-hours and logistics for numerous assays)
